Cosmos ‘Antiquity’ Seeds
~25 Seeds per Package

Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Antiquity’ (Antiquity cosmos) is an annual garden favorite prized for its soft, muted tones—vintage rose, antique pinks, and cream—and airy, fern‑like foliage. Native to Mexico and widely naturalized, it provides long season color from midsummer to first frost and suits cottage, prairie, and pollinator‑friendly plantings.

Grow ‘Antiquity’ in full sun for best flowering and a strong open habit; it tolerates light afternoon shade but will produce fewer blooms. It prefers well‑drained soil from average loam to sandy mixes and performs well in leaner soils—avoid rich, high‑nitrogen beds that lead to leggy growth. Water regularly during establishment, then tolerate moderate drought once mature.

Cosmos seed needs light, so sow directly outdoors after danger of frost or start indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost; either surface‑sow or barely cover seeds and keep evenly moist. Germination usually occurs in 7–14 days at warm temperatures. No cold stratification is required, and succession sowing extends bloom time.

Plants typically reach 3–5 feet (90–150 cm) tall with a 1–2 foot (30–60 cm) spread—space about 12–18 inches apart to allow airflow and showcase the feathery foliage. As an annual, it completes its life cycle in one season but may self‑sow in favorable sites.

‘Antiquity’ is excellent as a long‑lasting cut flower for airy bouquets and arrangements, attracts bees and butterflies, and adds soft, vintage color to mixed borders and cottage gardens.
