Helianthus annuus 'ProCut Plum' is an annual sunflower cultivar (commonly called ProCut Plum sunflower) bred for the cut‑flower trade. It features striking deep plum to burgundy single blooms on strong, straight stems and combines the bold presence of classic sunflowers with a more refined color suited for bouquets and arrangements. Like all Helianthus annuus, it is native to North America.

Plant 'ProCut Plum' in full sun for best flowering and stem strength. It prefers fertile, well‑drained garden soil and benefits from regular watering during establishment and while forming heads; avoid waterlogged conditions. A side dressing of compost or a balanced fertilizer at planting and again when buds form will support large blooms and sturdy stems.

Seeds can be direct‑sown outdoors after the danger of frost when soil has warmed, or started indoors 2–4 weeks before the last frost for an earlier crop. Sow seeds about 1/2–1 inch (1–2 cm) deep and keep the mix evenly moist; they typically germinate in 7–10 days at warm temperatures. No cold stratification is required. Thin seedlings or transplant carefully to avoid root disturbance.

Mature plants commonly reach about 3–5 feet (90–150 cm) tall with a spread of roughly 12–24 inches (30–60 cm); space plants 12–24 inches apart depending on desired density and staking needs. 'ProCut Plum' is prized as a premium cut flower with long, strong stems and good vase life; it also dries well for dried arrangements and attracts pollinators while in bloom.
